Until recently it was a hard and fast rule that outsourced work had to be something that required less intelligence and low skills to be performed. The high skilled work used to stay back with the parent country. But this scenario has started changing quite dramatically, nowadays, after other countries started outsourcing their work to India! India is now one of the best and reliable countries where work can be outsourced to, according to many top MNCs. Now, even jobs that require high levels of intelligence and skills are being sourced to India with strong trustworthiness that the high profile work would get done.
There are many advantages of outsourcing work to a dedicated country like India where the percentage of learned population is increasing every minute. With the word “outsource” one misconception that is associated is that work can be sourced outside one’s home country just because it gets done cheaper in the outsourced country. While this could be correct to a certain extent, there are many other factors as well that create possibilities for work to be outsourced.
Advantages of outsourcing
Getting more time to concentrate on the major business aspects by the parent company
A company runs on various aspects. It needs a front office to get the business and also a back office to take care of all the activities. While the front office has many things to take care of, the back office equally needs attention and is critical as well, from the company’s perspective. In such a scenario, if the back office of the company is outsourced to a reliable country like India, the third party company here would take care of the smooth functioning of the office, while the main office in the parent country is busy concentrating on getting more business and developing the company further. The only thing to be checked here is that the third party company should be trustworthy and experienced, in handling a back office efficiently.
Marked increase in the productiveness of work
Productivity of work would definitely increase if the work were given to an experienced third party. The main reason being that this company would take care of the manpower attrition, that is very common nowadays. All these issues would not eat the time of the parent company and they can work at ease. This results in a definite increase in the productivity of work on both the sides. This also means that large quantity of work can be sourced out without any problem, as it’s for sure that the work would be done.
Weapon against demanding competition
In today’s world, competition is available everywhere. It is very important to keep a track of what the competitor is doing in order to gain a hand above them. With outsourcing one’s jobs, there would be an assurance that the work being sourced out is being processed in a better way and the parent company can keep a better track of its competitors’ moves. This along with saving money will also boost the parent company’s morale and ranking.
The portfolio effect
This is otherwise called sharing of risks. In the world of investing, it is always better to reduce one’s risks by investing in diverse fields than in a single one. How does this reduce the risk? When the whole market is down, then any business that one does would automatically be down, no doubt. But if just one area of the market is down, where you have invested, relax! You at least have invested in other fields as well. Thus diversifying the investments is always a better idea. And for this, outsourcing jobs would be one of the best ways.
Finally, the cost benefits
This is something very obvious and clear. Usually investing in any latest technology is a costly affair. But in this case, outsourcing definitely proves to be cost effective. Also high skill and flow of manpower is obtained on a permanent basis; and all this at a lesser cost, with the operational costs of the company getting reduced to a greater extent. This leads to the apparent increase in the profits of the parent company!
In all the above-mentioned facts, one point to be looked for very importantly is that the third party company to whom the work is given should be an experienced one and most importantly a reliable one,who delivers the job given on time, keeping the level of satisfaction of their customers always high.
India, a land that has a greater percentage of highly talented population, is in fact the best place to outsource jobs to. Already boasting of a very high number of MNCs having their back offices here, there is little wonder why India is the preferred country for many countries and companies to source their work out.
